I make stuff. Paintings, mostly. I create, I destroy, I do my best.
I work with a variety of material and processes in a mostly non-objective, improvisational manner.
All painting is time travel. It mediates, through its materiality, between the ambiguity of self and the changing awareness of a never-ending present moment. As images, my paintings represent inverted archaeologies of consciousness. As artifacts, they function as a beacons, communicating specifically, selectively and personally. Living maps. My commitment to painting is essential, necessary and relevant because it exists concurrently within the last 60,000 years of human mark making.
My secret fantasy is that my paintings make their way into interstellar burial chambers, to be preserved and confronted deep in the future by a variety of non-human races. You know who you are. I hope the information contained therein will be useful.
